Indoor CQB or woodland: how the region splits

The region splits between indoor arenas in the urban core and outdoor fields at the edges. If you're new to the sport, what airsoft is explains how it differs from paintball and what to expect on a first game.

West Yorkshire

In Kirklees, Killhouse and Halo Mill are dedicated indoor CQB arenas. Leeds, Bradford, Kirklees and Wakefield all have sites. Before a first game, read our guide to site safety rules.

South Yorkshire

In Sheffield, Tac House Spartan at The Stan runs CQB with milsim events. In Barnsley, AMS No Mans Land at Shafton is a woodland site - its own description mentions dense woodland with a trench network and night games. Sites run their own events; check each site's events page for current dates. Rotherham and Doncaster both have sites.

Hull and both banks of the Humber

Hull has Unit 26, an indoor CQB arena open from age 10. Cross the estuary and Humber Airsoft at South Ferriby offers both woodland and CQB, and Elsham Activity Centre is woodland, both in North Lincolnshire. Kino Airsoft runs CQB in North East Lincolnshire.

North Yorkshire and York

North Yorkshire is spread out. Stealth Woods near Otley sits at the western edge; Adrenalin at Aske near Richmond is a long way from the Kirklees and Sheffield sites - plan the drive before you book. Scarborough Airsoft Club is near the coast, and York has sites too.

Sites that take younger players

From each site's own information, checked in October, Unit 26 in Hull starts at 10 (under-14s must be accompanied by an adult), Killhouse, Tac House Spartan, Kino and Elsham all start at 11, Stealth Woods and Humber start at 12, Yorkshire Tactical Activities sites start at 12, and Halo Mill is 14+. Several publish no age we could find - ring first. Full guidance is in how old you need to be.

How we check every listing

We run every listing against the UKARA and BAC registers every Monday. When we checked on 13 October 2026, most sites in the region were on the UKARA register, the BAC register or both, and about a third were on neither. What a register listing means - and what it doesn't - is covered in what UKARA is.

We also run a rolling website check on each listed site about once a week. Some listings had a website that no longer loaded when we checked; we flag those on the listing so you know to ring or message before travelling.

We've listed sites since 2019.

Common questions

Is every result on a map search an airsoft site?

Not always. Some are an airsoft shop or a paintball centre. This page lists places to play, not shops.

Does this page cover Hull and Grimsby?

Yes. We use the ONS region boundary, which runs south of the estuary. Hull players have Unit 26 in the city, and Humber and Elsham are on the south bank.

What age can you start at most sites?

The youngest start age we've found is 10, and most sites set 11 or 12. Some publish no age, so ask first. Read how old you need to be for the full picture.

Do I need UKARA to play a walk-on game?

No. UKARA is a free register that lets a shop check you're a genuine skirmisher before selling you a realistic imitation firearm. It isn't a licence, and you don't need it to play. Read what UKARA is for the full detail.

Are 500 fps guns allowed at sites here?

Power limits are set by each venue. No single figure applies everywhere, so check the site's rules before you go.
